SUFFOCATION: Tour Bus Woes Lead To Concert Cancellations
October 22, 2006SUFFOCATION drummer Mike Smith has sent the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
"SUFFOCATION's seven-week tour with FEAR FACTORY, HYPOCRISY and DECAPITATED, set to start on the 22nd of October, has been jeopardized due to fraudulent bus companies.
"The story goes like this in this exact order of circumstances: Four months ago we locked in tour bus arrangements with ******** ******* ******* to drive SUFFOCATION and HYPOCRISY on the U.S. tour. Three days before the tour was to begin, the bus company pulled out leaving us to scramble with no replacement. In a panic we called multiple bus companies to save the day, one of which was a company called ****** ***** & ****, owned by **** ********* out of Philadelphia. Because it was last minute, we were instructed to pay half of the cost upfront, which we did — close to $20,000. The bus never showed up, **** ********* and ****** ***** never contacted us back, and all numbers leading to him now get us nowhere. We've had no contact since the bank wire was sent. So far the first three [headlining] shows in Iowa, Nebraska, and Colorado have been cancelled. We are now working on flying to California with just the clothes on our backs to hopefully be able to start the tour as planned with FEAR FACTORY and the gang.
"Needless to say. without our equipment, merchandise and transportation, we will be scrambling at best.
"Thanks. Take care and have a better day than we've had."
